Kelly College Swimmers make National League Final

8th November, 2003

Kelly College swimmers cruised to comfortable victory in the 2^nd round of the National Speedo league Division 1 held at Tiverton. Team Captains Elaine Reyes and Jack Cockerton led the team to a very impressive win over 5 other teams from the region, which included Newport, Caradon, Dinnaton, Monaccs and Torridgeside.

Kelly’s final score was 265 points, which amounted to 30 wins, and 13-second place positions out of the 50 events on the programme. Kelly are now through to the final of the Speedo League which will take place at Millfield on Saturday 13^th December where they will take on 7 other teams. The top two teams in the final will be promoted to the National Speedo League Premier Division next year.

Kelly Individual event winners were, Paul Brew, Lawrence Oxborough, Meghan Tinsley, Matthew Henry, Jack Cockerton, Rachel Banfield, Matthew Slator, Russell Page Dove, Laura Sprague, Liam Yeo, Jakie Wellman, Thomas Howe, Sophie Stanford, Annie Tinsley and Elaine Reyes.
