The DSE Short Course Championships were held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield over the weekend of 6th and 7th November, 2004.
David Hill, Paralympic finalist, and Claire Cashmore, Paralympic double bronze medallist, both competed well in this, their first event after the Paralympics.
David won 4 gold and 2 silver medals and broke the European Record in the 50m Backstroke.
Claire won 7 gold and 1 silver medals with outstanding swims in the 100m Individual Medley and 50m Backstroke where she broke the World Record in both events. She followed this up with a new European Record in the 100m Freestyle. Claire was awarded the Outstanding Female Performer of the Competition
