What a week for Louise. She got off to a great start in her first event of the Trials, the 400m FC where she smashed her own British record by a massive 12 seconds. Louise never looked back all week.

It is vital the next cycle of training goes well as she has a real opportunity to convert at least 3 of these swims into Paralympic medals.

Lauren MADE IT! – we got her onto the team. Lauren produced some great swims to qualify in the 50 & 100m Freestyle which were fiercely contended. The good news is that Lauren feels she could go even faster, so watch out for her in Beijing.

Claire did a great job to qualify in the 100m Breaststroke despite the possibility of post viral fatigue. Claire will be back in action in 3 weeks at the 2nd Paralympic Trials in Sheffield, where she will be hoping to add the  200IM, 100m Backstroke, the 50m FC and the 100m Fly to her events in Beijing.

Some fantastic results for Paul who has worked really hard during his time at Kelly. Paul set a new Kelly Record in the 100 BR which was held by yours truly since 1985. Since arriving at Kelly, Paul has lowered his 100m Time by a staggering 6 seconds and is now just outside of the top 16 senior male swimmers in the country.

Danny produced two very good races, his 100m BR was just outside the Welsh junior record by 0.4 sec where he has until next November to achieve it. His 200BR was a brilliant swim splitting 69 at the 100m mark, Danny lead his heat from the start winning by a country mile.

Vicky had an excellent swim in the heats of the 100m backstroke producing a great PB time. Seeded against some very fast competition, Vicky found it difficult to get into her stride on the 200IM but gained valuable experience swimming and observing some of the fastest swimmers in Europe.

Jan had a great week gaining a bronze medal in the 50m Fly and a clean sweep of personal best times. Jan is closing the gap every year on her competition and it won't be long before Jan is pressing for a place on the 2012 team.

‘My sincere thanks once again to all those that make it possible for the swimmers and coaching staff to compete and operate at this level. Every member of staff from tutors, teachers, matrons, house masters, the pastoral care team, the registry team, the academic team, the bursary team, the catering team, the school shop, the maintenance team, the headmaster and of course the governors and all interested parties have all contributed to making this Kelly's' finest performance for more than a decade' – Robin Brew, Director of Swimming
