| Devon Swimmer of the Year Award 2007 goes to Cameron Brodie |
|
The Swimmer of the Year award for 2007 goes to Cameron Brodie. Fourteen year old Cameron moved to Kelly College in January and immediately made his mark on the County when he became our first ever Junior Champion when he finished runner up in the 1500m freestyle. He went on to gain two further Junior Championship titles in the 100 and 200m butterfly.

Huntingdon Piranhas swimmer, Lauren Steadman at just 14 has won a major sports award. Lauren won the Sport Performer with a Disability Award in the Living Sport Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Sports Awards 2007.
Lauren from Sawtry was nominated by the Piranhas and won the award for her hard work, her dedication to swimming and her success at regional, national and international level over the last year. .............................................................................Click here for more |
Kelly College tops in Open Water |

Kelly College swimmers took on the rest of the country at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham in the National Open Water Championships over the bank holiday weekend and came out on top with some excellent individual swims.
Matthew Henry (17), National Champion in the boy's 1750m 15/16years Open Water 2006, moved up to the Men's 2k, 17 to 24 years age group and again showed the rest of the country the way home, finishing 1 ½ minutes ahead of his nearest rival to take the gold medal and Championship title. Matthew has been invited by Plymouth Sports Forum to attend the visit of Lord Coe to Plymouth in September to enable Lord Coe and guests to meet elite athletes and their coaches who have the opportunity to.................................Click here for more

For the second year running Kelly College Swim Squad took on and beat the rest of Devon County Clubs at the DCASA Open Water Championships at Oddicombe. The Team of Matthew Henry , Caroline Ball, Matthew Stacey, Kathryn Stacey, Cameron Carpenter-Warren, Rebecca Windemer and Hannah Ball were never seriously challenged as they won all the individual events.............................................................Click here for more
