Biathle GB Race Series

Congratulations to Ella Ellis, County Squad ,  who came 3rd in the 9-10 category at the Biathle GB Race, doing 500m track run, transition, 50m swim, transition then another 500m run.  Her time was 5:37.00.

It was the first time that Ella has attempted an event of this sort, and there was a strong field at Millfield.

Exeter Aquathlon

Ella Ellis, County Squad, came 1st in the 9-10 category, with a time of 9:50.00 for a 100m mass start swim, transition followed by 1.2k cross country run.  Well done Ella.

Royal Navy Meet

 

Having recently competed in The County Championships, it was back to Masters Competition for Caroline on Sunday when she attended the Royal Naval Masters Short Course Meet at Millfield.  It turned out to be a sucessful and worthwhile trip as Caroline  gained  7 Golds in the 50 Breast (pb), 100 Free, 100 I.M., 200 Free, 400 Free, 100 Breast , 50 Free and  4 Silvers in the 100 Fly (pb), 50 Back, 50 Fly(pb) and 100 Back. ................Click here to read more

National Schools Biathlon Championships

Five Kelly swimmers successfully qualified for the National Schools Biathlon Championships via the Regional Qualifier held at Millfield School last November. The National Championships were held at Bath University on Sunday 8th March.

Josh Boon, Harry Dunlop and Dan Gillard competed in the Boys Year 6 category, Emily Ackford competed in the Girls Year 6 category and Victoria Callow competed in the Girls Year 7 category. Louise Watkins breaks 2 World Records in 24 hours.

ESSA National Schools Relay Championships - Louise Watkin set a  new British, European & World Record (subject to ratification) in the 50m Free during the lead off in the Senior Girls 4x50 Freestyle Relay. Her time of 29.52 betters the previous mark of 29.73 set by Annabel William of AUS in 2007.

DCASA Championships - Louise Watkin breaks her second World Record inside 24 hours in the 800m Freestyle (subject to ratification). Louise's time of 9.54.56 smashed the previous world mark by some 32 seconds. The long standing record of 10.26.14 set by Darda Geiger CAN in 2001, never stood a chance of remaining as Louise set a fierce pace in pursuit of the record right from the off.

BAGCAT Award winners invited to Lord Mayors Parlour

Last Tuesday (20th January) Kelly College Swim Squad members who won BAGCAT Awards at the City of Plymouth Galas 2008 were invited to the Lord Mayors Parlour in Plymouth . Those achieving awards are:-
9 year boys - Sam Every
9 year girls - Ella Ellis
13 year boys - Elliot Boon
14 year boys - Rory Oxborough
Following the awards the swimmers enjoyed drinks whilst mixing with other award winners and the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Plymouth.
