10th May 2010: Big improvements came from Kelly’s County Squad Swimmers at the Exeter Open Meet on the 8th and 9th May; 27 Gold medals, 10 silver medals and 1 bronze medal and, a host of PB times from the exciting two days of racing.
A great team effort from the County and National Squad swimmers, supported by Lawrence Oxborough and Ben Walsh from the Performance Squad, resulted in Kelly finishing 2nd in the overall club standings at the end of the competition.
With PB's tumbling for so many swimmers all weekend it is difficult to highlight all the swims. It was not all about medals, though, as Felix Davies succeeded at gaining the breakthrough that he so thoroughly deserved in the 200m freestyle, knocking more than 3 seconds off his previous best time, which had been static for some time - well done, Felix, keep it up!
Well done also to all our swimmers, and a special mention to 11-year-old Ella Ellis, who finished 3rd overall in the Top Girls award and also to 10-year-old Victoria Moore who finished 4th a great achievement from both girls especially as they gained the awards against much older girls.
