Jenni Henry says: "Early start, caught bus with Mark to YOV, had breakfast and then caught bus to Singapore Sports School for the last day of swimming at the YOG. Mark was in the first heat of the day, the 200m backstroke. Mark's mum and dad, Monica and John met us at the pool, along with Joe Casser, CdM of Malta and Tamara and Maria, two Maltese athletes who had come to cheer Mark on.
Mark put in a good swim to record his second fastest ever 200m swim in 2.16.85 but he felt disappointed as he had wanted to break the Maltese record. However, on the whole, he has had a good week, breaking the 100m backstroke Maltese record and achieving A's and B's in his Biology, Physics, Maths and Chemistry AS Level exams. This is a great achievement, with the busy year that Mark has had in swimming, and is wonderful proof that at Kelly College you can be a top swimmer and a top scholar!
In the afternoon, Mark, Monica, John and I took a bus and then the underground (all transport is free for those involved in the YOG) to Orchard Road and spent the afternoon shopping. »
